Mission Statement

 Purpose of organization:

 This non-profit organization was instituted for the primary purpose of raising funds to be used to award a financial scholarship to individual (s) to attend St. Bede Academy, in Peru, IL.

 Raising funds:

​

The fund raising will initially be targeted to the members of the St. Bede Class of ’61. This is the first class that Fr. Allen perfected at St, Bede Academy in 1958-59. Fund raising may expand to other St. Bede alumni and friends of the school. It is the plan and the hope of this organization to raise enough funds over time so that we will be able to not only fund the annual scholarship awarded from current funds, but to also insure that excess funds are generated from annual donations, so that those funds may be invested in a manner that will generate annual revenue that will support the ongoing mission of the organization. The initial fund raising period is set for ten years.

 Awarding of Scholarships:

 It is the intention of this organization to award ALL funds, with the exception of those costs associated with conducting normal business transactions. The announcement of the Scholarship availability will be made on the first anniversary of Fr. Allen’s death. The first scholarship will be awarded in May 2005 for the school year 2005-06. The amount of the scholarship has yet to be determined.
