Matt McGinnis is an Academy graduate of the Class of 1985. His father and three siblings are also Bruins. Matt received a B.A. in Communications from the University of Iowa. Matt was an executive at American Express Company for 20 years at their offices in Minneapolis and Phoenix. He managed global teams across several functions including banking operations, brokerage, client service, information security, privacy, software development, operational risk and procurement. Matt also worked at The Vanguard Group to implement regulatory requirements for their mutual fund complex.
Matt is married to Erica. They have two children, Greta (17) and Charlie (15). His family has lived in the Scottsdale area for 20 years. Matt was the Director of the Legacy Project for two years to engage alumni and friends to raise funds for the construction of the Perino Science Center. Matt continues to serve Saint Bede on the Alumni Association Homecoming and Strategic Planning Committees. Matt golfs, travels and cheers for his kids at their lacrosse and football games.
